Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association
is one of the nations fastest growing equestrian sports. Mounted contestants
compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action
revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition.
Courses of fire are set in a variety of patterns. The first half (5 targets)
of a course of fire will vary with each go and requires the horse and rider
to stop, turn, change leads and accelerate rapidly. The second half (5 targets),
called the "run down", is a straight course with targets set at
36 foot intervals. |

National Christian Barrel Racers Association
began with a group of barrel racers who had more in common than just loving
horses, their first love was the Lord Jesus Christ. The vision for this
association began with one barrel racer and as she shared this vision it
became the vision of over four hundred who now number in this association. |

US Team Roping Champions The team
roping event that takes place today is virtually unchanged from early range
days when cowboys doctored and branded cattle. Team work is the key to success
in this event; team work between the two ropers and team work between each
roper and his horse. If any horse sport can so embody our western heritage
yet still evoke a fierce, modern day competitive spirit, it must be team
roping. |
